How to Calculate Nap Time
- Note when your baby wakes up.
- Add the appropriate wake window based on age.
- Begin a calming nap routine about 10–15 minutes before the wake window ends.
Example:
- Baby is 6 weeks old.
- Wakes at 8:00 AM.
- Wake window = 60–90 minutes.
- Next nap should start between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM.
Total Sleep Needed
- Newborns typically need 14–17 hours of sleep per day.
- Sleep is spread across naps and nighttime sleep.
If you’d like a personalized schedule, tell me:
- Baby’s age (weeks or months)
- Wake-up time
