How to make Matar Paneer Gravy recipe in Canada hyderabadi style by Hyderabadirelish Matar paneer can be made in two different ways
- Matar paneer with thick gravy all vegetables gravy as a base.
- matar paneer with dry fruits as gravy
Matar Paneer Gravy Recipe Ingredients
First thing first paneer (cottage cheese) is cut in cubes but for this recipe of matar paneer we require big paneer cubes.once ready for this recipe i am taking 200 gm of paneer add Clarified butter to a frying pan and shallow fry paneer cubes.once fried add sliced green chillies to clarified butter and fry it for sometime and then keep it aside .
Now after this step we will prepare gravy for matar (green peas) paneer for this we will need diced tomato with garlic and green chilli .add it to food processor and make it a thick gravy once ready keep it aside for next step.
In a frying pan add 1 Tbs clarified butter (ghee) on medium flame saute onion light golden color add 2 tsp of ginger garlic paste saute it for 2 minutes after this add 2 tsp red chilli powder and 1 tsp of kashmiri red chilli powder it is optional it gives gravy nice red color and little bit of spice.
now after this add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder with 1/2 tsp of coriander powder saute it for sometime once every gets together add 1/2 tsp of cumin powder saute little bit .now this time you will have a thick gravy to this gravy i have added green peas frozen 1/2 cup its easy to get frozen green peas in canada than the fresh one you can use fresh green peas as well.
Recipe of Matar paneer step by step
Add half glass of water and cook for 3 minutes on medium flame now gravy is runny consistency to get it in thick consistency add cashews paste and cook for sometime .
now at this point add the fried pieces of paneer (cottage cheese) and let this get all together and cook for about 3 minutes wow nice aroma of gravy garnish this gravy with Crushed Kasoori methi and enjoy this recipe of Matar paneer gravy with Flatbread (naan)
